Subjonctif Présent

Irregular stems - Subjonctif Présent

This lesson is for subjunctives that the ils/elles form alone does not give.

Two stems

Some verbs take the ils stem in the singular and in ils/elles, and the nous stem in nous and vous.

Verb que je que nous
prendre prenne prenions
boire boive buvions
venir vienne venions
croire croie croyions
voir voie voyions

Verbs with a stem of their own

Verb que je
être sois
avoir aie
aller aille
faire fasse
savoir sache
pouvoir puisse
vouloir veuille

être, avoir, aller and vouloir change again in nous and vous: que nous soyons, que nous ayons, que nous allions, que nous voulions. être and avoir also take endings of their own: que je sois, qu'il soit; que j'aie, qu'il ait.
