Reflexive - Présent

A reflexive verb carries a pronoun that points back at the subject: in je me lave ("I wash myself"), the one who washes and the one who is washed are the same. The pronoun changes with the person and in present tense goes in front of the conjugated verb.

The pronouns

Pronoun Reflexive
je me
tu te
il/elle/on se
nous nous
vous vous
ils/elles se

me, te and se become m', t' and s' before a vowel or a silent h: je m'appelle, il s'habille.
